The biggest reason I stopped playing Warframe was that the PoE Goods increase in things like this. As soon as I played, I could mill and grind for a warframe by fighting precisely the same boss over and over, gather all the materials, do all of the quests and other items to eventually get the resources together, and my reward has been”Okay, you are all set! Four days only wait. Or pay us. It’s up to you, you do not need to, but it’s right here waiting for you in the event that you do.”
It bothered me immensely I was simply looking at those new shiny things which were essentially the only new content upgrades had to offer, and I caved more frequently than I want to admit. And. That’s what they want. I don’t think their stance on this thing has changed. And if lots of this runescape game revolved around farming for items, having something like this available only felt awful. I get that it had been completely optional, but I personally would have rather had cosmetic loot boxes compared to a system like this. Ideally we’d just. Not have a system at all that preys on you psychologically, but something about the system they’ve really rubs me the wrong way.
The real debate is why exactly we need to care. If their money is spent by people in a way which makes them happy so what? And if parents dont realize that their kid is siphoning thousands of dollars from them it doesnt effect me. Let such people are marketed to by them, they are paying people to manage the runescape games most of us enjoy. My personal take on this is biased by the amount of time I’ve played Runescape so take it with a grain of salt or take that it is an experienced perspective- up to you.
The problem is that when money is made by a casino from gambling, the experience of no one becomes legitimate. When a car sells for a thousand dollars at auction, the automobile of nobody else becomes worse or devalued.
In this case I would rather have a”slippery slope” with regard to legislation as opposed to the slippery slope of gambling, far too often meaning kids gambling away-their parent’s money. Because of the subscription nature of the runescape game it isn’t unusual for visitors to tie their charge card into an account to pay for the subscription without even thinking about the fact that the runescape game might have real-money gambling within it. This is only compounded by the fact that most children old enough to play with a game like Runescape learn more about computers than their parents do and have already been conditioned into accepting these sorts of predatory practices by cellular games directed at children that tend to PoE Currency Buy drain pockets 99 cents at a time.
